Championing inclusivity is Singapore’s annual Enabling Lives Festival, returning for its third edition this November. From November 30 to December 3, the four-day festival will embody the theme Celebrate Inclusion and Abilities, featuring dialogues, performances, and immersive experiences that aim to cultivate a more inclusive society. The festival’s activities will be held across Singapore.
For starters, partake in the Zero Project x SG Enable Forum where more than 100 innovators from all over the globe gather to have open dialogues about sustainable and impactful solutions for persons with disabilities.
There will also be sensory installations and art experiences led by artists with disabilities at the Enabling Village – the first inclusive community space in Singapore. Here, visitors can enjoy a food street with inclusive local F&B vendors. There will also be pop-up live music shows by musicians with disabilities, as well as a marketplace selling artisanal works by persons with disabilities.
Other experiences include a Tour in the Dark by Dialogue in the Dark SG (DiDsg) and The Silent Experience by TOUCH Community Services. This experience allows visitors to step into the shoes of people with visual and hearing impairments to better understand their daily experiences.
On the last day of the festival, there will be a chorale performance of the newly composed song, Our Story, at Capitol Singapore, Outdoor Plaza. This performance celebrates SG Enable’s efforts over 10 years in building an inclusive Singapore. Our Song is commissioned by SG Enable and composed by award-winning conductor Dr Darius Lim from Voice of Singapore (VOS).
