Time Out says

A new chapter lies ahead for Huggs-Epigram Coffee Bookshop. After announcing its closure at the Urban Redevelopment Authority centre, the independent local bookstore will return as a five-month pop-up in a space owned by The Lo and Behold Group along 267 Beach Road.

Some might recognise the place as the former Looksee Looksee, a reading room and tea salon. Now, it will be transformed into a temporary haven for bookworms to immerse in local literature.

Besides being able to bury the nose in a good read, the new pop-up will also carry the scent of freshly brewed coffee (much like the old book café) – in the form of local coffee machine brand Morning that works on a pay-as-you-wish format. Grab a latte as you browse through the best of made-in-Singapore titles.

“We’re currently planning for more events to take place at our new space,” says the publisher of Epigram Books Edmund Wee on what lies ahead. “We can’t wait to further develop Singapore’s dynamic literary landscape with new partners in the months to come.”
