Time Out says

Tackling Mount Kinabalu is a great feat in itself, but even more so when you’re doing it to raise awareness for a greater cause. Coalition Duchenne’s Expedition Mount Kinabalu, is an annual climb to foster deeper understanding about Duchenne muscular dystrophy – a genetic disorder that gradually leads to overall muscle degeneration. From June 10 to 12, join this 3D2N hike to the top of Mount Kinabalu with an international team.

It’s an all-inclusive climb, meaning that two nights accommodation, meals, and transport to and from Kinabalu Park HQ are all part of the package. It also includes other fees, covering climbing, insurance, and transport to base camp. You can also look forward to a cultural show hosted by the Sabah Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, a screening of award-winning documentary Dusty’s Trail: Summit of Borneo, and a talk by mountaineer Ravi Everest who’s climbed Mount Everest a staggering four times. Joining the climb will also get you a limited edition Coalition Duchenne tee.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy typically affects one in 3,500 males worldwide, and Coalition Duchenne is determined to spread the word about this disorder’s impact across Southeast Asia. This year marks the charity’s eleventh annual climb – it’s through such outreach efforts that they can help provide funds to support affected families.

There are 30 spots available in total. You can sign up or support Coalition Duchenne here.
