The FIFA World Cup might be over, but that doesn’t mean the football fever is taking a breather any time soon. The Faster Football tournament arrives at Our Tampines Hub for three days of adrenaline-rushing matches. Similar to your standard football, faster football is mostly the same game but just, well, a lot faster (it’s in the name!). Think football meets hot potato, for the uninitiated. It’s a test of speed and skills as each team races to score as many goals on a full-sized pitch, played in 7-minute halves.
This year’s tournament features more than 350 players from over 30 international clubs. This includes Borussia Dortmund, Leicester City, Coventry City, Queens Park Rangers, and
Hashtag United, alongside regional favourites like Shanghai Shenhua, PERSIB and Yokohama F. Marinos.
There are also plenty of things to indulge in besides the heat on the pitch. There are meet-and-greet sessions as well as food and drink booths across the festival grounds. After the matches, the field transforms into a stage for live DJ performances.
