Strap in for a night of riotious fun at Friends with Benefits, a new fundraising event series that will support a different LGBTQIA+ organisation with every edition. It's kicking off on September 8 at The Dempsey Project, this time to raise funds for The T Project, Singapore's first community support organisation and homeless shelter for the local transgender community.
Expect lots of sass and fabulousness, especially with legendary drag queen Becca D'Bus at the helm. If you don't already know, she's the producer and host of RIOT!, a filthy, trashy, boozy, and – ultimately – entertaining drag revue held every Saturday at Hard Rock Café.
Cranking up the laughs are some stellar comedy acts. They include Stephanie Dogfoot, spoken word poet and founder of Siao Char Bors comedy night; Rupali Bahl, who's bringing her signature deadpan humour from the American West Coast to Singapore; and Victor Pang, who'll have you squirming in your seat with his sharp satire.
Friends with Benefits is organised by Jamie Nonis, an independent journalist and the founder and host of LGBTQIA+ podcast SPEQTRUM, and sponsored by SKYY Vodka Asia.
