Bookworms, you’ll be happy to know that libraries have sprung up at three cafes throughout Singapore, thanks to Get Booked, an event launched by the Singapore Literature (Sing Lit) campaign, For You Page. Chill out with a book at The Social Space (Kreta Ayer) or Brawns and Brains (Hamilton) while enjoying your favourite coffee, or enjoy nian gao rice cake waffles and gelato at Creme by Lele Bakery while exploring new titles.
For You Page is a platform promoting all things Sing Lit, essentially encouraging people, especially youths, to read more. At each library pop-up, you’ll be able to choose from a selection of English books spanning fiction, non-fiction, novels, poetry, plays, and more. There’ll also be vouchers up for grabs from Bob The Baker Boy and Book Bar.
There will also be a For You Picnic hosted at NTU's School of Humanities and Social Sciences from February 16 to March 1, 2024. Unwind with free books, snacks, bean bags, and mats. Stay tuned for an online giveaway where you’ll stand a chance to win a picnic basket package as well containing books, food, and drinks.
