Time Out says

Sing Kit Chan's Home all you want but do you really know what makes Singapore home? Find out what truly binds us together as Singapore and Singaporeans, and what makes Singapore home at the National Museum of Singapore's latest exhibition Home, Truly: Growing Up with Singapore, 1950s to the Present.

Showcased across five key themes, it features artefacts and photographs from the National Collection and members of the public, as well as audio-visual footage, sounds, scents and special digital features that reveal the personal stories of over 100 Singaporeans, "regardless of race, language, and religion" – and age, too.

On display, you'll find over 80 objects from the National Collection that showcase the lived experiences of everyday Singaporeans, over 200 photographs on physical and digital platforms, of which a quarter came from community contributions. The five themes – Laying The Foundations, Moving In, Living Together, Open Doors and Sturdy Through Storms – each highlight the different facets of living in Singapore.

“With Home, Truly, the National Museum seeks to explore collective moments and experiences that are unique to growing up and living in Singapore," says Ms Chung May Khuen, Director of the National Museum of Singapore. "We’ve had several conversations with individuals from different segments of the community – including youths, seniors, and individuals who are visually-impaired – which have helped us to conceptualise an exhibition that truly resonates with our diverse audiences."

Like a time capsule, Home, Truly chronicles the moments and experiences in Singapore's past and present that express our identity and collective memory as Singaporeans. You can also check out the digital companion @ Home, Truly from your humble abode too. Just get ready for a heavy dose of nostalgia.
