Paya Lebar Quarter Plaza is about to get extra busy. Over three days, the piazza is transforming into a festival ground featuring free live tunes by local musicians. Back for its third edition, Homegrown Festival boasts a stacked lineup headlined by contemporary R&B trio brb. and breakout star Regina Song, who went viral last year with her indie-pop single, “the cutest pair”.
Other acts sharing the stage include Forests, 10pm Noise Complaint, TP Music Vox and Ice Cream Sundays. The lineup also features artistes under the Music & Drama Company. This includes Cut The Cabbage, Dominic Chin, RINES, Khim Ng, Aaron Bunac, Izzathy Halil, and Gail Belmonte. Rounding out all things local is a festival village offering unique finds from homegrown brands.
Aside from the high-energy concert, there’s also Homegrown Rising to look forward to. The youth band competition returns with six emerging acts taking to the stage for a chance to win professional production for two original songs. Come down, support and cheer on your favourites, and see who will come out on top.
