Time Out says

The Indian New Year is observed by various Indian sub-ethnic communities in Singapore, and to celebrate, the Indian Heritage Centre is throwing a two-day open house filled with performances, workshops and a festive market for all ages to enjoy.

Expect vibrant, high-energy dance showcases, from bhangra to ghoomar, and drop-in craft sessions where you can make your own festive potli bag and beaded hanging bell. Over at the marketplace, browse through tons of handmade gems, textiles and tasty treats from local Indian home-based makers. Look forward to complimentary beverages served at different times of the day, and free guided gallery tours offered in English and Tamil.

Throughout the weekend are also a series of ticketed workshops. Sign up to learn how to create festive Indian dishes or discover more about the Indian New Year through an interactive storytelling performance. You can also register for a guided cultural trail through Little India, which takes you to significant spots in the colourful precinct and concludes with a vegetarian banana leaf feast. Check out the full programme lineup here.
