West-siders, drool over this: Isetan’s Japanese food fair is heading your way for the first time. The Momiji Matsuri Fair turns Jurong Point into a Japanese-inspired street market with over 20 F&B vendors offering tasty autumnal treats to usher in the fall season. Expect seafood delicacies from Ijima Shoten, takoyaki bites from Nakayama Shokuhin, fried favourites from Mitamura and an assortment of desserts from Yakimono Club. If your mouth isn’t watering already, then it will now – keep an eye out for reigning fried chicken champion Higo Marunoya, which will be frying up its signature crispy karaage.
Come with an empty belly, but leave with a fully stocked pantry, too. As you move – and munch – your way through the fair, you can also pick up fresh produce like black garlic, Pione grapes, Akizuki pears and jars of sakura honey. Complete your shopping at the accompanying artisan market, where you can browse a curated selection of Japanese-themed crafts.
