Who says environmental conservation can't be fun? Here's a party in the jungle to prove you wrong. The location: Green Circle Eco-Farm in the forests of Kranji – where most of Singapore's food farms can be found. If you didn't already know, the future of most of the precious green spaces and farms in Kranji is uncertain because of Singapore's development plans.
With the support of Evelyn Eng, founder of Green Circle Eco-Farm, the event aims to bring the community together and celebrate this thriving and bountiful part of Singapore. It kicks off with a talk and guided tour of the grounds by Evelyn herself who has run the farm for the last 25 years.
The music community will also play a part in the merrymaking – party and dance in the jungle with beats and tunes by Amsterdam born-and-raised Himmat and experienced music maker Huntersson who has been behind the decks at Burning Man, Secret Garden Party and ZoukOut.
To bring out the jungle botanical theme more, there will be a biodynamic organic light nasi ulam dinner prepared using produce from the farm and a sampling cheese platter of artisanal cheeses made in Yogyakarta. For drinks, sip on beers from 1925 Brewery, Lion Brewery and kombucha by the prince of fermentation, DJ of Starter Culture. You can also sample cocktails using herbs freshly harvested from the farm at the Botanist Gin Cart pop-up. Heads up: do bring your own drinking cups, water vessels and cutlery as the organisers would love to limit disposables as much as possible. Also, remember to clear up after yourselves.
Music, environmental conservation and F&B are not the only things you can look forward to at this event. While we're in the jungle, it also makes the perfect setting for some wellness sessions. Sign up for a breathwork class by HyperAcitv led by Chun, a Level 2 Wim Hof instructor. He will also be leading the jungle edition ice baths and as a treat, you can enter ECOHOF15 to enjoy the special event day discount amount of $15 per person.
