Katong is about to glow a little brighter, quite literally. Kampung Elektrik is turning the neighbourhood into a neon-lit playground where more than 30 local indie brands, art movements and live music are spread across Katong Square, Kim Choo Kueh Chang, CREO Customs, and Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy over four days.
More than just your standard street festival or retail market, this festive affair is all about igniting the kampong spirit and connecting with your next favourite local brand. Instead of simply browsing the stalls, you get to meet with the makers and designers, and hear how their ideas came to life. Some of the brands to look out for include fashion labels like VIVRE activewear, Untaian, Tonêff, and Pakar Batik.
Elsewhere, on the entertainment front, the event is headlined by homegrown musical duo Jack and Rai. They share the stage with Amanda Tee, Alyscer, Krysta Joy, Pines, Hidemen and more. Meanwhile, the folks at Better Say Yess are supplying unlimited servings of “batik trance”, which blends Southeast Asian elements with melodic house.
