Time Out says

Does buying fresh local produce straight from a farmer delight you? If it does, City Sprouts is bringing Kranji Countryside Farmers Market to you this weekend! Together with Kranji Countryside Association (KCA), the farmers market is where you get your beloved local growers, all under one roof.

Look forward to sampling the freshest produce of the season - vegetables, fruits, herbs, milk and many others. There’s also locally-made artisanal food and products to check out. Visitors can try their hand at harvesting the produce in the available workshops and community activities. So get ready to roll up your sleeves and get dirty in the activities suitable for the whole family.

The Market Hall

Explore the market hall where the farmers not only sell produce, but have exciting demonstrations, show-and-tell and even tasting elements at their booths. In addition to the local produce, shoppers can also look forward to organic produce by international growers from Japan and Malaysia. Shoppers are also encouraged to bring their own bags when they attend the market - an initiative that is in line with City Sprouts’ sustainability objective.

Workshops

After shopping, try out the workshops suitable for you and your young ones too! Join quail farmer Uncle William in an educational session with the feathered friends: the quails and chicks of Singapore. In this session, learn more about the poultry industry, the differences between eggs, and the characteristics of the different poultry birds. You get to pet the chicks and snap photos with them too! Participate in a sensorial experience in the Herb, Spices and Tea program by The Huddle. Get educated with herb leaves, grind the spices, sniff the aromas and even conduct a tea tasting after.

So, hurry and get your tickets for this two-day event. Join in for tons of activities, workshops and lots of fresh produce shopping to be done. Find out more here.
