Time Out says

Stroll down Gardens by the Bay this weekend and watch the beautiful lantern displays light up in celebration of the Mid Autumn Festival. Based on the theme Reunion, this year’s event celebrates the importance of the festival by bringing friends and family together to enjoy the light installations, participate in activities and enjoy the stage performances.

Lantern displays

This display at the Golden Garden showcases hundreds of birds soaring towards the phoenix, as it rises up to the SuperTree. The lantern set is based on a mythological tale on how the phoenix shared food with the other birds during a drought.

At the Supertree Grove, the zodiac animals make an appearance during the Mid Autumn Festival Reunion. Also at the Supertree Grove is the Five Blessings, a colourful lantern display of five tigers inspired by the traditional craftsmanship of cloth tiger-making. Each tiger is designed to represent a different blessing - Joy, Health, Love, Longevity and Peace.

Colonnade of Lights

This year’s Colonnade of Lights displays a vibrant showcase of over 1,000 paper lanterns created by the community. In collaboration with Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple, these colourful lanterns are designed and hand-painted by people from various walks of life. It is found at the North Colonnade, leading to the Supertree Grove.

Cultural performances and marketplace

Live performances make a comeback at this year’s event. Enjoy the medley of Mandarin pop songs performed by artists from Music Dreamer at the outdoor live concert stage. There’s also spectacular dancing lights with soundtracks of the Garden Rhapsody that will leave you in awe.

If you go hungry, fret not because there’s over ten stalls selling delectable food options like Happy Thai Street Food and Ramly burger for you to snack on.
