Time Out says

573 used plastic bottles make up the leaves of the eight-metre Christmas tree

Mercedes-Benz is greening with pride this Christmas. Racing its way towards a cleaner tomorrow, the automotive company lights up Great World City with an interactive eight-metre Christmas tree installation consisting of old Mercedes-Benz parts, used plastic bottles, and wood offcuts.

Gaze at Stars of Change, a Christmas tree that came about in collaboration with fabrication consultancy Superstructure. This full-height piece is constructed with 1,450 sustainable pieces – emblems of Mercedes-Benz forms the base of the tree while over 500 used plastic bottles piece together the leaves. Wood offcuts gathered from decommissioned art installations embellish the installation and more than 340 Mercedes-Benz auto parts form the tree’s eight-metre trunk. All used items are in their second or third stages of upcycling. Peek at the tree from below and you’ll be treated to a supersized version of the automotive’s iconic Three-Pointed Star.

Through this tree, Mercedes-Benz seeks to portray an aesthetic translation of how it envisions sustainability, and signifies its chapter of commitment towards the climate race. You will also get to learn more about the concept of the installation and how it complements the brand’s vision towards a sustainable future.

Immerse yourself and discover the beauty of this supersized structure just outside of the Mercedes-Benz Concept Store, located at #01-131 at Great World. From now till January 2.
