Time Out says

It's time to unleash your inner child! A pop-up activation titled Musical Swings has opened to the public right in the heart of the city: Dhoby Ghaut’s Cathay Green. Dreamt up by Canadian artists Daily tous les jours – the talented people behind We Can Dance (SIFA 2019) – is Musical Swings. It's not just any ordinary swing, however. It's an urban interactive installation that stimulates human connections in public spaces.

The installation toured around the world following its success in the Canadian city before arriving on our shores as part of SIFA 2021. Imagined as a collective experience, the work invites people of all ages and backgrounds to make music together in a public space.

Each swing in motion triggers different notes, with secret melodies unleashed only through ‘cooperation’, or synchronised movements of different swings. Up for a challenge? Go as high as you can on the swing to hit all the right notes. Musical Swings takes creativity to a whole new level.

But hold your breath for a different experience at night. Come dusk, the swings light up – presenting itself as a stunning centrepiece in Singapore's arts district. If there's one thing to do after the sun goes down in Singapore, it's this.

So hop on a swing and make collective music in this refreshing urban installation – but be sure to register a slot here. Registration will be available three days in advance and each participant will have to complete their entry via TraceTogether check-in and to take your temperature.
