Throughout August, Changi Airport is getting into the National Day spirit with celebrations across all four terminals and Jewel. Whether you’re catching a flight back home or stopping by Singapore, look forward to a festive lineup of performances, stamp hunts, interactive activities, floral displays and loads more.
Over at Jewel, experience Singapore’s Peranakan heritage through food, craft and culture. Held in collaboration with Baba Nyonya Restaurant, the programme lets you enjoy a selection of Peranakan dishes and craft your own bookmark. Want to take home an extra souvenir? You’ll even get a chance to dress up in traditional Peranakan outfits and pose for pics atop the Canopy Bridge. Then, stick around in the evening for a special music and light show at the Jewel Rain Vortex. Watch the indoor waterfall light up with vibrant colours set to the beloved National Day anthem, “Home” by Kit Chan.
Elsewhere, keep your eyes peeled for photo opps at the various National Day-themed horticultural sculptures scattered throughout the airport. This includes a towering illuminated bougainvillea tree at Terminal 2’s Departure Hall and a giant Vanda Miss Joaquim floral display at Terminal 3’s Departure Hall. The celebrations extend into the transit area, too, where travellers can catch live performances and get personalised poems on postcards.
