To celebrate two years of its blossoming creative community, New Bahru is throwing a weekend-long party across the former campus. The two-day affair also marks the completion of the final touches to the lifestyle hub, with a line-up of programmes taking place at its outdoor spaces, halls, community areas and more.
The main event is its Mini Lawn Festival, where movement, music, food and drinks unfold. The laid-back party vibes are fueled by different activities each day. There’s a relaxing guided session by Natural Highs and The Hummingbird Life, sing-alongs with Sing Song Social Club and Wild Pearl, and day-to-night sets by GrooveTop’s resident DJs, who will transform the lawn into a funk-driven dancefloor. There’s also all-day F&B rounding out the activities at the lawn, from Thai staples to refreshing beverages.
Elsewhere, there’s a multidisciplinary arts showcase at the School Hall, while New Bahru’s residents roll out their own fringe activities around the block. Look out for The Urbanist’s new series of heritage tours, which gives you a closer look at the history behind the building.
