These are just some of the stories not to miss at this year’s Nordic Film Festival. Presented at Filmhouse, the film programme takes you on a cinematic journey across the Nordics, featuring a diverse showcase of movies from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
One of the highlights is The Last Viking, which closes out the programme. The darkly comic thriller from Danish director Anders Thomas Jensen stars Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen opposite Nikolaj Lie Kaas. It follows a former robber who reunites with his brother after 15 years in prison. The pair then set out to retrace their steps to track down the forgotten location of the stolen loot. But soon their treasure hunt turns topsy-turvy when the siblings run into a series of mishaps that force them to confront their past and who they are now.
