Calling all bookworms: if you fancy a weekend reading picnic date, Casual Poet Library has you sorted. The shared library at Alexandra Village is marking its second birthday with an outdoor celebration that involves loads of books, tacos and plenty of reading time in nature.
Is your #TBR stack a lil empty? Or maybe you just forgot to bring a book along? No worries. You can pick up your next read at its pre-loved book stand, which will be stocked with a selection of fiction and non-fiction titles. Otherwise, you can browse more than 180 community shelves, featuring everything from books on transportation and graphic novels to feminist literature and zines. Safe to say, there’s gonna be something for every kind of reader.
Also, no picnic is complete without the munchies. The Misunderstood Bird will be whipping up Thai-Mex bites throughout the day to fill up those hungry stomachs. All that’s left for you to do is pack your camping chair or a picnic mat, whichever you’re more comfortable with, find a spot and settle in with a book under the sun.
