Ten local acts are coming together for a benefit concert at Clarke Quay Central’s Blu Jaz to raise funds for victims of the devastating Nepal floods. Organised in partnership with Singapore Red Cross (SRC), the gig brings pop, indie, alternative and rock to the stage, uniting homegrown talent in a show of solidarity to those impacted by the disaster in late August. Every dollar from the ticket sales will go directly towards SRC’s humanitarian assistance, emergency relief and recovery efforts.
Featured on the diversely stacked lineup are indie darling Shazza, pop-R&B artist ANNÉ, skatepunk outfit Iman’s League, singer-songwriter Darius and more. Also on the roster is up-and-coming band Cut The Cabbage, who recently made their official debut at September’s Homegrown Festival.
The catastrophic floods rank among the worst natural disasters in Nepal’s modern history. Triggered by a mountain and glacier collapse, the disaster has claimed more than 1,400 lives and destroyed homes, roads and other infrastructure. More than 5,000 people are still reported missing.
