Time Out says

Singapore has always been described as a country that’s “forever evolving”. Look at any corner of the city – there’s something always being refined, tested, adjusted or tweaked. To put it simply, we’re pretty much a WIP. Prototype Island leans exactly into that idea.

Inspired by our country’s constant need for progression, this exhibition showcases 15 experimental projects by Singapore-based designers that are still in development, inviting visitors to take a peek at these creative journeys before they’re completed. Each project is a response to contemporary challenges in community care, technology, and everyday infrastructures.

Prototype Island made its debut at Milan Design Week earlier this year, where it turned heads and was recognised with the inaugural Essere Progetto Special Mention at the Fuorisalone Awards. Its homecoming presentation at ArtScience Museum marks the first in a series of exhibitions in a year-long collaboration between the Marina Bay Sands museum and DesignSingapore Council.
