Time Out says

Working Title Productions puts a Singaporean spin on George Bernard Shaw’s classic play Pygmalion. In this local adaptation – directed by Deepa Pushpanathan and written by Cameron Belliston and John O’Rourke – Singapore’s education system is placed under the microscope. The story follows Aini, a hardworking student from Greenfield Secondary whose life and worldview are heavily influenced by her principal’s strict standards of success. In order to be the best, one must always be disciplined to grind, and there is no room for mistakes. But as Aini’s life quickly unfolds and O-Level exams loom closer, she realises it’s not all black-and-white, forcing herself to confront these harsh rules and demands, alongside her best friend Clara and her debate team.

Pygmalion: Mural of Singapore features a youth ensemble of emerging theatre talents, where the cast and crew are made up of graduates and students from NTU, NUS, SMU, NAFA and LASALLE. The show also marks the group’s second annual production, following last year’s staging of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest.

Take note that this is a free-seating event, so be sure to arrive 30 minutes before the show begins to chope the best seats in the house.
