Calling all coffee aficionados! You won’t want to miss the Singapore Aeropress Championship 2023, which returns this year on June 22 at Lowercase Cafe. At the competition, organised by Common Man Coffee Roasters since 2014, 36 baristas will compete to become Singapore’s best 'press'er. This year’s champion will also go on to represent Singapore at the World Aeropress Championship in Melbourne. And yes, anyone can compete – even if you’re an amateur home brewer or just a casual drinker.
You’re also welcome to visit the event as a spectator if you don’t want to compete. Either way, expect a night filled with coffee, fun, great music, tasty food from Prodigal Co., and drinks including craft beer and coffee cocktails. Various brands will also be setting up booths at the event – among many others, Kurasu Singapore will be brewing coffee with specialty beans from Kyoto at the Community bar, while Oatly will be debuting their new Oat Drink Tea Master and giving out samples at their booth. You’ll also get to mingle with fellow coffee lovers and participate in games and a lucky draw. If you need an added incentive to go, entry to the event is free. The first 150 guests will also receive a registration door gift – a $5 Common Man Night Shift voucher.
