There’s a lot more to do at Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park other than just having a picnic. Over nine days, the two parks are celebrating their historic landscapes with a joint Heritage Festival featuring curated tours, exhibitions, talks and cultural performances for the whole family to enjoy. Step inside an inclusive mushroom farm, discover what it takes to cultivate plants in Singapore, and spend a day in the life of an orchid specialist.
But don’t call it a day after the sun sets, as there are more activities planned after dark. The Heir is an immersive projection-and-audio trail that casts you as a young prince who is tasked with completing a series of missions to protect Bukit Larangan.
For a more laid-back evening, unwind at the Shaw Foundation Symphony stage and catch live orchestra performances and nostalgic concerts featuring homegrown classics. There will also be eco-friendly movie screenings happening at the Eco-Lake Lawn. See the full programme list here.
Free shuttle bus services are available on weekends, so you can easily hop between the two parks. Along the route, you can also make stops at attractions like Battlebox at Fort Canning or the Gardens’ Botany Centre and Botanical Art Gallery.
