They say never meet your heroes, but for this, it’s always an exception. Singapore Comic Con (SGCC), one of the biggest pop culture events in the city, returns for another exciting weekend. Prepare yourselves for more fanfare at this year’s edition, including a series of live performances, exclusive screenings, cosplay competition and more.
Watch Godzilla make its first-ever appearance at the event as the King of Monsters battles it out against sci-fi hero Ultraman. Meanwhile, the Jedis and Siths will clash in an epic lightsaber choreography performance. Elsewhere, taking over the main stage, are PAssionArts AudioImage Wind Ensemble. Expect a medley of game music, from classics like MapleStory, Sonic the Hedgehog and Star Wars to fan-favourites like Baldur’s Gate III and Final Fantasy XIV. There’s also an eating contest where eight challengers will devour as many plates of fried rice as they can to earn the Food League Eating Championship title.
And if you thought the Kpop Demon Hunter mania has died down, think again: Asia’s first fully interactive HUNTR/X tribute act, HUNTR/X Singapore, are set to perform songs from the popular Netflix animation.
