Take a break from the WTA Finals and head to Singapore Wine Fiesta 2015 (SWF). Hosted by The Straits Wine Company, the eighth edition of the festival features 350 wine labels and gives guests the chance to meet 70 winemakers from all around the world.
The theme this year is ‘Singapore-style food, wine and music’, so expect to nibble on grub by Bjorn Shen (Artichoke) and Cheryl Koh (Tarte by Cheryl Koh) while listening to the tunes of singer-songwriter Weish, soul siren Vandetta and DJ Funk Bast*rd.
Wines to look out for include AIX Rosé 2014 (France), Viña Pedrosa ‘Gran Reserva’ 2006 (Spain) and Castello di Brolio Chianti Classico Grand Selezione 2011 (Italy). Also look out for a series of wine master classes – they’re free for SWF ticket holders – covering topics such as the characteristics of Sauvignon Blanc wines, and how different glassware brings out the flavours of the tipple.
