The Singapore Writers Festival (SWF) 2025 is looking to the future. Returning from November 7 to 16 under the theme “Shape of Things to Come,” the festival invites readers, writers, and dreamers to imagine what lies ahead – a world that’s inclusive, inventive, and deeply human.
Organised by Arts House Group, this 28th edition will feature over 200 programmes and 300 local and international presenters, spanning panels, performances, workshops, and cross-disciplinary collaborations. Familiar favourites like SWF Playground, SEA xChange, and Youth Fringe return, alongside fresh tracks including SG60 Homage and Sci-Fi Spotlight, which dive into the nation’s creative legacy and speculative futures.
This year’s lineup reads like a literary dream: R.F. Kuang, Fuchsia Dunlop, Sathnam Sanghera, Victoria Chang, and Raymond Antrobus headline, while sci-fi visionaries Hao Jingfang (郝景芳) and Ken Liu take centre stage to explore imagined worlds that blur the line between fiction and foresight.
From cultural exchange to bold storytelling, SWF 2025 invites everyone to read, question, and reimagine the world together.
