You can soon experience the ethereal charm of Taiwan's famous Pingxi Sky Festival right here in Singapore. The first Singapore Sky Lantern Festival is happening this February 21 at Sentosa's Palawan Green. Just like the event in Taiwan, you can pen your wishes on paper lanterns, light them up, and send them soaring into the night sky. Get your camera ready to capture the tapestry of glowing orbs overhead. If you have safety or environmental concerns, don't fret – the lanterns are biodegradable and will be fastened to the ground with long bamboo strings. You'll be required to retrieve your lantern before disposing of it responsibly.
The Sky Lantern Festival will also have an afternoon music festival with cultural performances, DJ sets and food stalls. End your night at the afterparty happening from 10pm to midnight.
