Bookworms are gonna have a whale of a time this weekend. Local thrift collective, Thryft, is opening a new Second Story space at Peace Centre, and they’re celebrating this milestone with a Snag Bag Party – basically a book buffet where you get to stuff as many books as humanly possible into a single IKEA bag from just $20.
You’ll first have to choose a Snag Bag size, book a 2-hour time slot, and make your pre-payment online. Then, just show up and go ham on the selection of books! While everything is pre-loved, it’s all in good condition, and you’ll get to stock up on a range of riveting reads at a fraction of what they would otherwise cost. More importantly, your little shopping spree will help lighten the carbon footprint of paper wastage.
Looking to share the loot with friends? Opt for the medium ($40) or large ($60) Snag Bags, which admit up to two and three persons respectively. That said, if you’re going splitsies and the small ($20) bag for one isn’t enough for your stacks, feel free to grab one of the bigger bags all for yourself.
