What happens when tabletop role-playing games, alternative music, tattoos and the arts collide? The answer is Spell & Iron, a first-of-its-kind event that brings Western fantasy hobbyists, street culture and youth communities under one roof to simply hang out. That’s right, if you’re into castles, dragons, medieval art and the like, then you’ll wanna clear your calendar for this two-day affair at *SCAPE.
Join in on fantasy tabletop sessions that go beyond the usual D&D with AltRPG Club, and look forward to a marketplace offering a variety of gems from local creative brands. Pick up a new art magazine from Basheer Graphics, browse through RPG-inspired clothing and merch from House of Seadrake, or get into the art of paper folding with Jarigami. There’s also a painting session hosted by The Crimson Feathers, where you can bring 3D-printed figurines to life. If you’re feeling brave, don’t forget to drop by the tattoo booths to get inked.
Come evening, the event trades swordplay and armoured combat for music. Headlining the first night is the band Blush, who share the stage with Thaarmin, Haldi Honey and Freereina!. Meanwhile, night two features Malaysia’s Iron Gaze alongside Witchseeker, ChaosSphere, Mystique and Plague Bearer.
