Textures: Love and Loss (and some things in between)
Time Out says
This March, literary arts festival Textures returns with the theme of Love and Loss (and some things in between). With thoughtfully curated programmes such as plays, music performances, workshops, and exhibitions, this literary festival aims to bring together local writers, speakers, and thinkers.
This year, catch literary expressions breathe into life as theatrical enactments, starting with Night of Terrifying Tales, a live adaptation of legends and tales performed by a team of storytellers led by Kamini Ramachandran. See Alfian Saat's collection of short stories come to live with Performing Malay Sketches. Step into exhibitions like the Room of Love and Loss and explore the theme through poetry and music. The exhibition also features a collection of objects significant to members of the literary community commemorating love and loss. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in a discussion of topics close to the hearts of locals during 在异乡响起的人生组曲 (A Tale of Two Cities), as well as mental state of the country in Will Singaporeans Ever Be Happy?. Check out some of the highlights of Textures 2019 here.
