Total Defence Day falls on just one day: February 15. At Singapore Discovery Centre though, it’s a one-month tribute to our country’s resilience. From February 4 to March 3, bring your entire family down to Singapore Discovery Centre to join in a lineup of kid-friendly activities.
As far as this year’s theme goes, “Together We Keep Singapore Strong”, it’s spot on. It’s all about having a part to play in our everyday lives, staying steadfastly united in both good times and bad. With a display of Singapore Police Force cars and tactical vehicles, 4D multi-sensory film adventures decked out with motion effects, and guided tours around the Permanent Exhibits Gallery, there’s a whole lot to do this month.
Kids will also enjoy the Lego play area where they can build their own cities. It’s the perfect backdrop to let their imaginations run wild – they’ll be absorbed in a game of play pretend, taking on the role of a police officer while safeguarding their Lego cities.

They can also fully dress up in their own miniature versions of the No. 4 uniforms, while pondering over the question “What does it mean to defend your home?”. Collectable “Pillars of Home” cards will also be released weekly for you to customise and learn more about the six pillars of defence.

The Total Defence 2023 commemorative special will also have award-winning short film screenings, a bus tour around the 88-hectare training grounds, and even a new gallery exhibition Redacted? - An Uncensored Look At Our Home that focuses on the often overlooked issues that still plague our nation. In keeping our nation strong, the Singapore Discovery Centre lets us explore how we can include Total Defence in our everyday lives.
