Time Out says

Ready to celebrate National Day on the wilder side of Singapore? Proudly wear your best red and white ensemble to Wild Day Out, where you can have a wildly good time with a full day of free, family-friendly fun at Mandai Wildlife WEST, just outside Bird Paradise and Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST. Happening on August 8, this annual free-to-access event brings together homegrown flavours, local makers and uniquely Singaporean experiences to the great outdoors.

Start by roaming the Kranji Countryside Association's signature farmers' market, where stalls brim with fresh local produce, artisanal goods and organic treats from Singapore's farming community. Then, unleash your curiosity at complimentary hands-on workshops, where you'll get a taste of the passion and craft behind the nation's growers and makers.

Once you've worked up an appetite, go on a wild food hunt across Mandai’s public spaces, where a curated line-up of homegrown dining brands awaits. From local favourites like Food Republic, Han’s Union, and Old Chang Kee Coffee House to speciality options like COLLIN’s, Song Fa Bak Kut Teh and Munchi Pancakes, there is something for every appetite. The little ones can burn off energy with family-friendly activities, while furry companions can sniff out adventure at Mandai Wildlife WEST's new dog playground.

Adding to the festivities is the interactive My Little Chingay Float Truck, bringing Singapore's living heritage to life through colourful fringe activities that'll have all ages joining in. And if one day of celebrations isn't enough, make tracks back to Mandai on August 9 for a free National Day Parade (NDP) Watch Party at the new entrance of Singapore Zoo at Mandai Wildlife EAST. Look out for our wildlife educator Haniman Boniran who’s representing Mandai on a national stage at this year's NDP for the very first time. Gather your favourite people, join in the birthday bash, and celebrate Singapore in a setting that's about as wild as National Day gets. Find out more here.
