Need insider info on Tokyo DisneySea? Start your research at Japan Rail Cafe in Tanjong Pagar. It recently held an event where you can pick up some tips on what to check out at Tokyo DisneySea. Hosted by media personalities like Cheesie, the informative session was peppered with games and quizzes, so you don't just gain new information about Tokyo DisneySea, you also stand to win plenty of prizes. If that's not enough, everyone who attended the opening session received a goody bag loaded with Disney memorabilia to take home.

Though the session might be over, anyone can head to Japan Rail Cafe to enquire about travelling to Japan as well as Tokyo DisneySea. The best part – you can even book your tickets there and then.

The main attraction at Tokyo DisneySea? The rides, of course. With seven main areas like Mediterranean Harbour, Mysterious Island, Mermaid Lagoon, Arabian Coast, Lost River Delta, Port Discovery and American Waterfront to explore, you can expect loads of surprises along the way.

Rides like Nemo & Friends SeaRider make for good fun for the entire family as you board a submarine that 'shrinks' into a size of fish and explores the marine life together with popular characters like Nemo, Dory and more. The flagship attraction at the theme park is the Journey to the Centre of the Earth ride, where you embark on a dark and thrilling ride inside Mount Prometheus and end on a high with a spectacular climax.

Snack attack!

Snack attack!

All the gallivanting on rides is sure to make you peckish. To combat a grumbling stomach, go on a snack trail at the theme park. The park changes for each season, meaning that there's seasonal merchandise – and even different snacks on offer depending on when you visit.

From the famous Ukiwa Man (shaped like lifebuoys) stuffed with shrimp to orange-flavoured churros to Mickey Mouse ice pops exclusive to Tokyo DisneySea, these exclusive snacks will leave you stuffed.

A whirlwind romance

A whirlwind romance

Though it's known as a family-friendly theme park, Tokyo DisneySea can amp up the romance too. Adventurous couples can brave the Tower of Terror together for a bonding experience. Lovers can also enjoy a romantic gondola ride in the Venetian quarters of the theme park. With fairy lights and fireworks lighting up the park at night, head to Mermaid Lagoon where King Triton's castle is for a vantage point to soak in the atmosphere. It's been said that marriage proposals have happened on the steps of the castle too.

To enjoy the park in its full glory, timing is everything. If the festive Christmas vibe is something you seek, then the December period is when you should visit. Popular seasons include the spring and summer months where the weather is ideal and the sun is out.

The park is open even at night, so even if your flight arrives in the late afternoon, you can drop by Tokyo DisneySea to watch the night shows, do a bit of shopping, and get on some rides. There are different tickets you can purchase – the Starlight Passport allows entry after 3pm and the After 6 Passport is great for those looking to explore the park just in the evening.
