Prince Alfred Square

Prince Alfred Square is located close to the Riverside Theatres and Parramatta’s Visitor Centre. In recent years it’s been home to a pop-up circus tent in summer as part of Sydney Festival. The Park’s history is colourful – it was once the site of Parramatta’s first gaol in 1796 and later the first female factory in 1804. Nowadays it’s home to a Victorian bandstand, a 1920s built war memorial and the Gollan Memorial Clock Tower (built in 1954).
