Sheraton on the Park has been reinvented as the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park, and to celebrate, the hotel is hosting Heart for the City – Sheraton's series of immersive experiences offering a new take on local favourites during November.
This is all a prelude to Sheraton’s dynamic transformation from a global icon to an inviting community where experiences are shared. Head down to the hotel to check out four Instagrammable Vignettes, a display on Sheraton’s Transformation, and a series of Community Voices talks.

Instagrammable Vignettes
The hotel's Castlereagh Room will be transformed into a wonderland for visitors to explore and take videos, boomerangs, photos and GIFs. Drop by from 11am to 8pm between November 16-21 and keep an eye out for:
The Honeycomb – A large-scale 'honeycomb' backdrop creates an Instagrammable moment in the journey. At the base of the honeycomb, guests can find samples of some of the delicious honeys created in the Sydney area.
The Book Club – Elegant stacks of books will frame a giant floor-to-ceiling volume, which happens to be open to a page of recipes for the perfect tea and cake. The pages are designed to allow guests to become part of the illustration and snap a photo.
The Tea Plant – The backdrop to this vignette is a wall of tea trees and shrubs used in the Sheraton High Tea Watte tea range by Dilmah. An oversized teacup is at the centre, with whimsical butterflies and a giant tea bag. Pulling a cord nearby triggers the tea bag to move up and down, and the butterflies wings to flap – creating a perfect moment for a GIF or a boomerang.
Exquisite High Tea – High tea is a Sydney institution. This towering, larger-than-life re-creation of the treats available at Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park includes replica cakes and sandwiches. This installation includes an impressive optical illusion.
Sheraton’s Transformation
The new Sheraton lobby will feature a projection-mapping experience that brings the room to life as a dynamic gathering space. The projection represents a day in the life of the lobby, from breakfast to an afternoon meeting through to evening drinks.
Community Voices
Guest speakers will appear at the hotel to talk about what makes Sydney unique. Two half-hour sessions will take place each day.
Fri Nov 16, 12.30pm & 4pm: Sydney Bee Club: Club president Naila Evens presents a talk about the club’s role in the community, bees’ role in the Sydney ecosystem, and what makes Sydney honey unique.
Sat Nov 17, noon: General Assembly: Feel re-energised about your life and career as Charlotte Messervy, founder of Sankalpa, offers advice on identifying what motivates you and bringing those passions into your daily life.
Tue Nov 20, 12.30pm & 6pm: Archie Rose: Rosebery distillery Archie Rose proudly produces a diverse range of internationally awarded whiskies, gins, vodkas and rums. Join the team of Archie Rose bartenders for an interactive gin and whisky-blending experience to learn what goes into making exceptional spirits and cocktails.
Wed Nov 21, 12.30pm & 6pm: Pauline Nguyen: Pauline escaped Vietnam on a boat and survived a Thai refugee camp. The owner and founder of Red Lantern restaurant, she will speak on community – how Red Lantern serves as a gathering place for Sydney, how the community contributed to her success, and how she incorporates local Sydney ingredients into her dishes.
