Time Out says

British rockers Wolf Alice take to the Metro stage this month

The music press have been sounding the death knell for British rock music for years now. No group has defined a generation since Oasis over 20 years ago, and even 21st Century success stories like the Libertines now seem like the dim and distant past. Take a look at the current bestseller lists and the only Brits with guitars you’re likely to see are bedsit troubadours like Ed Sheeran and Jake Ezra. If that’s going to change any time soon, you’d bet on London quartet Wolf Alice leading the charge. Described by Clash as “the lovechild of folk and grunge,” the band aren’t afraid to turn up the distortion, yet always have addictive pop hooks underpinning everything they do. They nearly landed a UK number one with their most recent album, Visions of a Life, only to be narrowly denied by the comeback record from Shania Twain. While the country star continues to sell out enormo-domes around the world, you can make the clever decision and catch a head-spinningly great show from Ellie Rowsell and the guys.
