Tasty dinner options abound for locals of Parramatta on Church Street. Head to ‘Eat Street’ and take advantage of delicious food spanning many cultures. You'll also find free parking (terms and conditions apply) to make your visit easier than ever.

While work on the light rail is progressing, the street and the restaurants and bars that line it still have plenty to offer. Sweat it out as you dig into a hearty bowl of pho filled with hot beef broth, silky rice noodles and slices of rare beef, or treat yourself to a schmancy glass of wine and a Cape Grim rib-eye steak served with umami-loaded gravy. Rally the troops and take yourselves on an unofficial food tour of Eat Street and roll on home afterwards.

Sometimes you get a hankering for a juicy cheeseburger with an unmistakable layer of melted American cheese and a smashed beef patty. Hit up Three Stacks when you get one of those cravings. The American burger joint was formerly known as Brades Burgers and recently underwent a delicious makeover. Think classic American diner food like burgers, chicken wings, sodas and shakes, but with a contemporary twist that includes smashed patties, white truffle aioli, brisket bacon and – wait for it – donut fries. They’re Three Stacks' answer to churros and come with a basket of deep-fried donut sticks dusted in cinnamon sugar, served with chocolate dipping sauce. Wash it all down with a thick Reese’s peanut butter shake and be on your way. The chicken and beef are halal-certified and the venue also accepts the AT Parramatta Gift Card too.

This award-winning venue based at the Novotel boasts an impressive and award-winning wine list. Dive into a contemporary Australian menu with fresh Cone Bay barramundi on a bed of puy lentils, crisp pancetta and beetroot, or browse the grilled steak menu and order a juicy fillet of Cape Grim rib eye with red wine jus. The venue is open for breakfast and dinner, seven days a week.

Pho Mai

For fresh Vietnamese flavours, head to Pho Mai. If you’re after something hearty opt for the pho and pick your own protein from cooked or rare beef that slowly poaches in the hot broth, chicken slices or offal. Or grab your chopsticks and dig into a bun cha with fresh vermicelli noodles and crisp spring rolls, or grilled pork chops, pickled carrot and daikon and cucumber. Don't forget to douse it in fish sauce to wetten the noodles and give it the kick it needs. And lastly, wash it all down with an avocado smoothie like you would on a 35-degree day in Ho Chi Minh City. The council is offering free parking at its Eat Street and Riverbank carparks between 6pm and 3am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for those who spend $20 or more at the venue. Simply pick up your free parking ticket from the restaurant when you pay your bill.

Japanese diner Sushi Mata prides itself on serving healthy and nutritious food that won’t leave you hungry. Not to mention that Japanese food is synonymous with fresh flavours; and at Sushi Mata this means tuna and salmon sashimi or salad bowls that come on a bed of greens topped with the likes of diced salmon and avocado or marinated seaweed. There’s also sushi, noodle dishes, donburi and ramen like the deep-fried chicken karaage ramen with a miso broth. In the mood for sharing? The Mata Special comes with 15 pieces of sashimi, 14 pieces of nigiri and eight pieces of sushi roll.
