It’s pretty rare (nigh unheard of) to see snow covering the Domain, but this winter the Air and Style Festival will bring a blanket of the stuff to their ski and snowboarding competition in Sydney. It’s the first time Australia will host this three-day event, drawing 60 Olympic-level contestants to a purpose-built, 16-storey ski ramp.
International competitors will start cutting the powder on Friday August 3 with the men’s qualifiers, followed by the women’s test on Saturday and both finals on Sunday. If the death-defying drop and skilled jumps aren’t enough entertainment, there’s live music all weekend, including headline performances from Flo Rida and Snow Patrol (how appropriate).
