An afternoon spent building Lego worlds is always a good’un, but when it means you get to give a child with cancer a Christmas present, the good vibes go through the primary colour plastic roof. From November 22-24, Lego Australia is teaming up with children’s cancer charity Camp Quality to host Build to Give.
The event is popping up in World Square and the concept is pretty simple and pretty cool (even if it is an exercise in marketing toys at Xmas): build a cute Chrissy Lego character and for every ornament constructed, a Lego set will be gifted to a child facing cancer at Christmas. You don’t get to keep your festive Lego creations, but ’tis the season for giving and the fun is in the building anyhow.
This is the first year this Lego initiative will run in Australia, and the global event aims to give one million kids living with cancer a gift this year.
