After a year of closed and limited business it's safe to say Sydney Olympic Park has had a pretty quiet 2020. One of the area's fave eateries and bars, Abattoir Blues wanted to do something to highlight this and came up with the perfect way to shine some light on the diverse businesses who did it rough during restrictions. The Summer Garden Festival is a one-day mini festival that let's the Olympic Park community out to play. Abattoir Blues will play host to a day packed with markets, live music and all-ages fun.
Head to the Summer Garden Festival to experience the festivities and feasts amongst 100-year-old heritage buildings and gardens. Browse stalls full of handmade and one-of-akind goods from local artisans with Sri Lankan jewellery, baby gifts, handmade soy wax candles, socks collecting dosh for charity and more. You'll also want to arrive hungry as there will be snacks abound like halal sticky-dates by Date Bliss, smoked meats by Pullman Hotel, vegan desserts and even delicious doggie treats for your four-legged friend. Kids will also get a cheerful nod with balloon sculpture competitions, face painting and more. All this to the upbeat soundtracks of live music from local acoustic artist Harry Tompsett and a set from DJ Tinah.
Abattoir Blues' Summer Garden Festival is free to attend and will be jazzing up Olympic Park from 9am to 3pm on Saturday January 30. Give the businesses of Sydney Olympic Park some support and plan your visit here.
