We’re all familiar with the standard Covid-19 coronavirus safety precautions by now, from face masks to hand-washing, not to mention spritzing some hand sanitiser when entering a shop or restaurant.

With the increasing demand for hand sanitisers, Japanese beauty and cosmetics company Shiseido is stepping up to offer its medical-grade hand sanitiser to the general public. The company was initially supplying hand sanitiser exclusively to medical institutions, but thanks to high demand, the sanitiser will be available at drugstores and cosmetics retailers in Tokyo and across Japan from August. No word yet on whether the hand sanitiser will be sold overseas.

Shiseido’s hand sanitiser is particularly popular thanks to its moisturising properties, which help prevent your hands from getting brittle and dry. The sanitiser will be sold in 500ml bottles (the price is yet to be announced); refill packs will also be available. For the supply, Shiseido will produce 100,000 litres per month at factories in Tochigi and Osaka prefectures as well as two other plants in Japan.
