If you have yet to visit Tokyo’s tallest observation deck, now is your chance to enjoy panoramic views of the city skyline for a bargain. Between now and August 23, Tokyo residents can go up Tokyo Skytree for half the usual price.
Opt for the Tembo Deck ticket, which admits you into the first observation deck at a height of 350m. After discount, the ticket costs ¥1,050 for adults, ¥750 for junior high and high school students, and ¥450 for primary school students (prices increase to ¥1,150, ¥800 and ¥500 respectively on Saturday, Sunday and holidays).
The Combo Ticket, on the other hand, includes access to the upper deck, 450m metres above ground. After discount, the ticket costs ¥1,550 for adults, ¥1,150 for junior high and high school students, and ¥700 for primary school students (prices increase to ¥1,700, ¥1,250 and ¥750 respectively on Saturday, Sunday and holidays).
Both tickets mentioned above also get you 10 percent discount at the official souvenir shop and the Skytree Café on Tembo Deck.
No need to worry if you’ve got friends who don't reside in Tokyo – as long as one person in the group lives in Tokyo, everyone gets the discount. Just head to the counter on the fourth floor of Tokyo Skytree to get your tickets, and remember to bring proof of your address.
Note that Tokyo Skytree has implemented the following Covid-19 coronavirus safety measures:
- There's temperature check upon entry. Anyone with a fever of 37.5ºC will be refused entry.
- Wear a mask at all times, cover your mouth when you cough, and disinfect your hands regularly.
- Keep a safe distance from other visitors at all times.
