Baba Musah Swallah was born and raised in the densely populated community of Nima in the heart of Accra, Ghana, which by many is considered a major slum community. Swallah's painting, sculpture and mixed media works render stories that reflect everyday life. This particular series, entitled 'My hood' aims to pay homage to the Nima neighbourbood. The exhibition goes beyond the stereotypes and reflects on the complex and multi-ethnic aspects of Nima.
Opening night 1 April at 18:30 for preview and cocktails.
