Be the first to see Godfried Donkor's much anticipated exhibition at the launch party.
Donkor's new body of work re-imagines an illustration of an Asante yam festival in Kumasi by the 19th century English explorer, Thomas Bowdich, now held in the National Maritime Museum. Using installation, painting and collage on board, Donkor will reinterpret this scene on a life-size scale. The exhibition follows the artist's four-month residence in Ghana with Gallery 1957.
