Alikoto Bar and Grill is a nostalgic bar with a unique and bubbling ambience. Alikoto (like the names of many of their cocktails and shooters) is that of a popular game dating back to the 1970s with the idea of entertaining the children outdoors bringing them together. The idea behind Alikoto is to bring back memories with renowned cocktails. Many of the alcoholic and virgin cocktails have ingredients of a Ghanaian origin.

The kitchen uses a South African-style braai serving spiced chicken wings and pork served with yam chips or jollof. It’s food designed to be paired with the cocktails. All sounds great, but there’s also a community aspect to the project. They say: “we strongly believe we are a small cornerstone of the communities we are situated in and care deeply about helping improve livelihoods in the community by providing employment for locals in our bar, working with local suppliers for our bare essentials for running the bar and donating a percentage of our yearly proceeds to a selected school to help meet a need of a student or the school in general”. They are also encouraging their patrons to add an extra GHC1 to their bills to help support us in the endeavor.
