A recent change of name – previously the Hotel Shangri-La – is hopefully a sign that this comfortable but slightly fatigued hotel is in for a refurb. There are some charms to its 70s veneer, with thatch, rattan and stucco everywhere you look and legions of wood artefacts populating both the lobby and surprisingly extensive gardens. However, general consensus is that this previously popular establishment is in need of a little attention. But for those who value location over designer furnishings, this is a handy spot close to the airport, Accra Mall and polo ground.
