Time Out says

Republic's brilliant wednesday music night this week features Urban Music Buzz with Constant Boty uru Guru, Big Gim, BoomGiman and Mineral Latouche.

It costs GHC10 and all proceeds go to the performers.

This is not an eclectic, explorative collaboration in smooth jazz but, rather, an explosive experience of young talented artists reviving the roots of retro-funk and hip-hop with a twist of jazzy Afropop stylings.

These artists include Hip Hop/Rapper Big Gim from Gabon, Vocalist and Dancehall performer, Boom Giman, turntablist supreme, Mineral LaTouche, from Ghana, and Ivory Coast guitarist/composer/producer, Constant Boty. And, yes, it’s the same Constant Boty who continues to gain a reputation for seeking provocative styles of musical expression in his ever-expanding collection of both original compositions and popular contemporary remixes that often step outside the friendly confines of smooth jazz into the adventures of more progressive and eclectic jazz.

This is not a stereotypical smooth jazz experience, but it is more a fusion of groovy beats, laid-back jazz instrumentation and soulful vocal stylings. This incredible collaboration of fearless artists falls head over heels into its own musical category, a new birth of cool. The combination of Boty’s rock guitar riffs, Big Gim’s vocal scatting and DJ Mineral’s funky beats, propel their patented minimalist hip-hop and fusion trip into a more aggressive kind of cool, new music.
