Dutch-owned Vlisco was established in 1846, and has since spread its colourful Dutch wax fabric designs across the world. Like Woodin,

It sells clothing and bags, but the appeal is really all about the fabrics, which tend to be louder and more colourful than Woodin’s comparatively muted offerings. Of its two stores, the beautiful Accra Mall is the flagship outlet. This is the place to pick up something for home.

Vlisco recently started hiring designers to take orders for clothes in the store. I thought this was a great idea and was happily willing to pay their exorbitant prices to have a pantsuit made for a formal event. Unfortunately, the experience was awful. I listened to the the customer rep Nana Afua on her recommendations and the outfit turned out awful. The trousers had no design — a 10-year-old could have made them. The top was just...bizarre. The measurements they took were completely wrong. If I could give them zero or negative stars, I would. I had to end up finding another outfit for my formal event. I would not recommend this service. I would not even shop at Vlisco again, even for just material.

In 2011, I bought some different materials of wax block and super block from Vlisco.

One of the wax block was badly damaged.  I  sent the company an e-mailabout the damaged product.  The vlisco company sent me back an e-mail saying that I need to send them a picture of the damaged product.  I didn't have a camera at the time, but I went ahead and bought a camera so that I can take the picture of the damaged product and sent it to them.  After I bought the camera, I took the picture of the damaged wax block and I e-mail it to them.  Vlisco e-mail me back saying that they will get back to me they never did.  After waiting for them and didn't hear from them, I decided to be calling them on the phone to resolve this issue. They have been giving me a round around since this incident. I decided to write this review/complaint because my last call was today April 16, 2014 when Ms. Debrun from the customer service at Vlisco told me that they are not going to do anything to resolve this issue.  Mind you they NEVER REFUNDED MY MONEY ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN TERMS OF SALES.
